Hello Member,

It truly is my honor each quarter to bring you updates on what is happening within your credit union here at Labor Credit Union. This quarter, I thought I would take a slightly different approach and include a video version of my newsletter, and I promise to keep this short so that you can get the information you need and keep your day going.

I want to quickly talk about your direct deposit that you have set up through your employer or your retirement benefit provider. I often hear members say, “when I need a loan, I’ll call the credit union…”. And my response to this is always: What about when you need a checking account?

Labor Credit Union has great loan rates, but we are more than just a lender. We are a full-service financial institution, and you should have your direct deposit set up to come here to the credit union as well. What is important to understand is that we are a cooperative, which means the loans we fund to help our members come from the deposits our members have here at the credit union. Our deposit accounts, from CD’s to checking, include benefits such as cash back, high-yield checking accounts, and competitive rates.

Right now, we have several incentives that increase the value of our deposit products -including cash incentives and eligibility for fee waivers if you have your direct deposit here at Labor Credit Union. With that, I want to leave you with two quick and exciting updates:

Zelle – It’s coming! You’ve been asking for this service, and right now we are in the testing phase of rolling out Zelle with your Labor Credit Union account. Expect to see communications that this is available around the third week of April.

3601 St. Barnabas Rd, Hillcrest Heights, Maryland. This is the address of our new branch that is just weeks away from opening to serve members all throughout Prince George County, Maryland. We are in the process of wrapping up renovations and closing out the permits, and you should expect to see updates that this location is open very soon!
